how do i remove artex form wall?

I would like to remove the artex from my living room walls so i can wallm paper. I've been told i can use a wall paper striper to do this.

Best to go for a skim coat of plaster.
Some artex products contain asbetos so best left alone

yes u can use a wallpaper striper its hard work as i have done this easy way is to get it skimed with plaster.
