changing ram!?

when you change the ram in advent 7081 laptop do you have to alter this in computer control

The general case is that when the machine starts up embedded software - the BIOS - runs and checks the status of the machine - the BIOS will detect the memory size - and then load the Operating System into available memory from the hard disk - you should have no actions to take.
