vaillant turbomax vuw 242e?

HELP!!! I have a vaillant turbomax boiler that goes throughthe light-up sequence, to the stage where the pilot flame lights, stays lit for approx 10 secs , then locks out. I figured it could be the flame sensing electrode not seeing the flame so have fitted a new electrode, but i still have the same problem. The fault is the same for central heating and hot water functions, any help would be hugely appreciated. Jim.

As a foolow up to add more info really, I say the pilot light but it appears as a flame approx 1 and a half inches high and seems to be all the way across from left to right, so i assume would hit the electrode on the extreme right of the burner. Also, even when the flame is lit, i can hear the ignition spark "ticking" but i don't know if that happens anyway or if the ignition should stop activating when flame is achieved. As a little background info, I'm a maintenence electrician by trade so I'm confident enough of fixing the problem - I just desperately need to know what to look for. A link to a service manual for this type of bolier would also be handy!! Thanks in advance, Jim.
