My Protable dvd player will not play, the unit will fire up spin the disk with a blank screen then will stop spinning and nothing happens. Please help as no one wants to repair it.

try takin it a part then get out the disk reder and clean it then leave it out for a hour then put it back in and try it if it dont work then you need to get a new one because i have this dvd player and it did the same now it works but if its over 2 years old then it will not work!!!!!!!!!

i think i know what the problem is.i have the exact same one as you the gdvd84wlcd,and its not been working for the last week,iv just spoke to a proffessional t.v repairer that had a look at it.He lifted the lid and were the laser is situated,it goes up and down during the movie,well its probably jammed on yours,so gently with your finger try pushing it down just a little,once its freed,try playing a movie.it should be right

have you reset the unit after installation as mine did the same thing then worked ok as i have a goodmans unit, also for some reasom my ariel wire has to be connected before cd player will play. there is also a helpline you can ring which is usually on unit ! if not let me know and i will forward it to you.
