low-voltage lighting issues?

I have a low-voltage track light system in my hallway. It worked fine for several years. But now the lights go out and won't come back on until I flip the breaker. A voltage detector shows that there is power on the track, even when the lights won't turn on. Thoughts?

The transformer could be faulty and/or overheating.
