how to refill central heating system?

I need to change a valve on a downstairs radiator, I have a Glow-worm Swiftflow Combi boiler. I have been told that I need a trained engineer to refill the system once the valve has been changed? As far as I can see, all I have to do is to refill using the filling loop and bleed all the radiators afterwards, making sure the correct pressure is showing on the gauge, and pouring in corosion inhibitor through the radiator....or is there more to it than this?

to Ron Steenbergen. The filling tap on the cxi range with the blue extension are prone to snapping if over tightened. They are easy to replace but make sure you isolate the flow return hot and cold before removing the filling section which has metal retaining clips to hold it in place. Also prior to removal remove the pressure from the boiler by means of the black drain teat located under the boiler once isolated.

The presure in my glow-worm 30cxi is low and I am trying to fill it but I can't get any water in the system.
I tried the drain point and I tried the filling loop tap and extension tool, but both are not working.

please advice.

Nope you've pretty much hit the nail on the head it is as simple as that just make sure the boiler is turned off while it is drained , ie so that the hot water part doesnt kick in , just turn off the mains power to it then do as you say and it should be between 1 to 1.5 bar when cold
