cast iron bath...help?

I have just moved into a house with an old castiron bath. It has 2 separate brass taps. I need a shower syatem for the kids...short term (until we can afford to redo the bathroom). I have attached a b&q pipe thing to the taps to mix water to a hand shower.
I need something a little more shower type...but inexpensive. Help please!

If you want something better you'll have to get rid of the pair of separate bath taps and fit a bath mixer instead. These have a knob or lever to switch between the shower outlet via a hose, and the bath filler.

But this is quite a lot of plumbing work! Why don't you simply keep the 'B&Q pipe thing' until you're ready to refurb the bathroom? Good enough for the kids, surely?
