Bathroom lighting?

I have three spotlights in my bathroom and only one works (I tried changing the bulbs but no joy). I am trying to replace with new lamps. The new lamps have brown and blue wires, but the wires coming out of the ceiling are just two white wires for each lamp. Can I join these to the blue and brown wires in the new lampholders? Please help!

HonestBob, that must be one of the most irresponsible answers that I have ever seen.

To the OP, the bathroom is no place for electrical amateurs.

Who will stop you? Death does a pretty good job of stopping a case of bad wiring

Of course, you can connect them however you want. Who's going to stop you? 'The Electrical Police?'
