You should call an electrician - a typical ceiling rose has four connections
Earth
Live (3 wires none of which connects to the light)
Neutral (2 wires - the light joins with them to make 3 wires in total)
Switched Live (1 wire - usually looks like a neutral - should have a red or brown sleeve on it - the light joins with it to make 2 wires in total - it comes from the switch - it turns the light on and off)

Whatever you do you need to arrange to have FOUR separate connections Live - Neutral - Switched Live - Earth
