How can I tune my Sony Trinitron, model KV-X2552U?

How can I tune my Sony Trinitron, model KV-X2552U? It works fine on the designated channel for cable TV but reverts to black and white on the channels designated for VCR and DVD.

There's a lot of guesswork in this answer because of the lack of information. Lack of colour means that part of the colur sgnal is missing. It can be due to a TV set for NTSC (USA) when the signal is PAL (Europe) or viceversa.

I assume that you have your DVD and VCR attached with a SCART cable(s). If that is the case you may have one or more faulty leads of have the TV set to for example RGB input and you are supplying it with a Composite signal.

So you need to do some basic diagnosis. If your cable box is connected via SCART try the DVD and VCR on that cable one at a time. If they work then your fault is as above.

Feel free to put a new post on if this doesn't adddress your problem but if you do please put more detail on how the boxes are connected together.
