The soap box on my washing machine does not drain at the end of the cycle meaning it needs to be emptied before the detergent is added. I would be grateful if there are any solutions to help please.

I assume your referring to the fabric conditioner compartment. Remove the drawer & the blue insert, make sure the hole in the tube under the blue insert isn't blocked, you should be able to run water through this & it should flow out from under the drawer at the side. Once you're happy thats ok check inside the housing of the drawer that the water jets above are not blocked with mildew. Give it a try, if your problem still occurs you might have a faulty valve.
