Where is my Fabric Softener Dispenser?

My washer (Kenmore, model #110.22622100) says that I have an 'Agitator-mounted fabric softener dispenser' but I can't find it. Is it somewhere I can't see very well, or am I just not looking hard enough?

For whomever stumbles upon this, wondering the same thing I did...It turns out that there are different versions of this model of washer. The one that I have happens to be the basic model without the fabric softener dispenser, but the instructions on the underside of the lid still mention the 'Agitator-Mounted dispenser'. I suggest a 'Downy Ball' or switch to dryer sheets! :)

Hi Jen. I'm not a repair person, but if your machine is set up like mine, the fabric conditioner compartment IS the cup in the top of the agitator. Fabric conditioner is released by the force of the machine spinning at the start of the rinse cycle when the washing water has mostly been pumped out. It uses centrifugal force to release the conditioner. Does this make sense? That whole thing should pull out for you to put the soap down the agitator. Turn it over. Does it have a hole in the bottom? This is how it gets in the machine.
Was this any help?
