Leaking tap?

I have just had a brand new single lever mixer tap fitted. When pushed down to off nothing comes out of tap as you would expect but there is a constant dribble from the tap lever. It is only the hot that is seeping out as when the hot is off at the mains the dribble stops. Any ideas please.
