how can i get grease from food out of my clothes

I always use Dawn dish detergent and pretreat. This has always worked for me. Even if the stain has gone unnoticed, it works.

All you have to do is go to your local auto store/department. They will have some kind of degreaser that you normally would spray on your hands or other car stuff. Just spot spray on your clothes and put it in the wash.
I have also found that this helps even after washing and tumble drying clothes.
