Hi , this might be a silly question to some , but is it possible to use my sky digibox to recieve non sky channels from other satellites , ie programs from Europe ?

Oooh - so sorry Dave - no intention to offend but it did look a bit of a silly question - and as you said - "it might be a silly question to some" - I was just confirming your suspicion of this... I thought it WAS a silly question.
I know nothing of the inner technology of these boxes - I was merely guessing - but I am prepared to put money on it.
My simple answer this time is NO.
Let me know if I'm wrong - I'll send the price of a pint...
But then - Irish Paddy seems to suggest I am wrong - where shall I send the money?

i have a sky box here in dublin, and the card is out of date, but i pick up FTA channells , from the astra 28.2 , if thats any help to you ,

can you not answer a simple question with a yes or a no Peccavi ????? I'm NOT asking to watch sky for nothing !!! I just want to know if you can watch other channels AND sky (and pay for it) through the same reciever. So get off your high horse , your commission is still safe.

Imagine you were a marketing business manager at Sky - would you ask the designers to make your boxes exclusive to the services you sell on a monthly basis - or - would you ask them to design the electronics to be able to decode all and any signals - so that users need no longer pay you any money ?
