Whats the first thing to check on my Indeset WasherDryer WD12 to find fault?

My washer/dryer WD12 when switched on is filling and filling, it will not stop, it is going through a draining programme fine and the pump is working, the most obvious is where I would like to start then if it is not that, the next, (power of deduction) seems the simplest way to find the fault as I have been told "it could be a number of things" I suspect a faulty inlet valve, obviously the water is not getting a signal to stop and keeps filling, is there anything else that may make it do this also?

Just switched machine on again and I can clearly hear the click of the contacts from the pressure switch which is now making me think if it was faulty I would not be hearing that, am I right in my thinking, anyone else had this problem?

thanks wirecutterman, I have just taken off the plastic pipe from the pressure switch it is exceptionaly clean and clear of anything, refitted, tried again, machine just keeps on filling with water, any suggestion as to next step, should I go for new pressure switch and hope that its became faulty or could it be a faulty inlet valve, must be one or the other surely, don't know which one to try first, its a pain all this hand washing.

over filling can be caused by,
the pressure switch becomes faulty.
pressure pipe maybe split/detached
pressure chamber hole blocked (this is the likely one)
this chamber is the opposite end to the pressure switch so follow the plastic pipe downwards, from the pressure switch, remove pipe clear the hole refit try for filling what you have done is removed the gunged up accumulated washing powder blocking the hole preventing the air pressure making the switch turn off the water valve
