external hard drive?

My acomadata(Model #HD500UHES-72) does not seem to be recognized by my computer now, no problem before. How can I fix it, I have important data that I need retrieved. Do I have to take it to a computer "wizard" to do this. Tried it on 2 other computers no go there as well.
