how can i fix a tape?

I played a family video last nite in my sony vhs and it got snagged in the recorder and snapped. As it holds precious memories i would like to know if i can salvage the tape? if anyone can help i would greatly appreciate it.

I fixed an old tape by very carefully unscrewing it and just used some celotape the type that peels off easily (the sort of cloudy ones, you can get them any were, just not the yellowy tape). It has the slightest fuz when it gets to that bit, but it works just fine. Make sure to trim the edges of tape and not leave any sticky bits that could stick to your machine. Oh and dont loose any bits of the tape!!
