What's wrong with my Saunier Duval Xeon Central Heating Boiler?

The pilot light is lit but the central heating won't work, it is just making a clicking sound.

I think it is a 50FF

yes sorry the pump has to work for the boiler to fire up

Richie, October 2010
no it runs from the power supply(240v) when you turn on you timer/clock, If the impela is seized then the boiler will not fire up properly because it relys on the pump to remove the heat away from the boiler

Does the boiiler not have to be fired up for the pump to work? or does the pump have to work for the boiler to fire up?

I have the same fault with mine, but before when it has occured it was the water circulation pump that sits in the pipe work near the water tank, turn your heating on and you should hear it/feel it turning (buzzing sound), or there will be a big screw in the front, un do that (will loose a very small amount of water) and you will see if the impela is turning, or take that screw out when the heating is off and see if you can turn the impela with a flat haed screw driver.
