i have two newlec storage heaters ,one comes on no problem but the other one only used to come on if set at 1 input and output ,when setting it at a higher temp it hasn't come on at all,there is power going into the switch as a red light comes on when timer switches it on

It sounds like your input thermostat has gone.Newlec are a brand from newy&eyre electrical wholesalers if you ring them they will give you a number to ring for the surplier.They will let you know where to get parts from or ask for the part number for your model and go surf .You will need your model number and serial no to hand they are usually on the bottom edge of your heater.Good look.
