L Print failure on Bernina 150?

For the second time in 18 mo. my Bernina 150 went dead. I am very careful about where the machine is plugged in, using surge protectors and UPS units. I went back to my dealer and was then told that the previously installed L print had only 1 year warranty ( I was never informed of this). I am being quoted about $200. to have it repaired, but I am very skeptical about this happening again. I am not a heavy user and it makes me nuts when my fancy machine falls dies in the middle of a project and it is weeks before the machine works again, not to mention the BIG bucks I have to shell out.

My dealer says Bernina won't do anything and I am annoyed because I was never told I only had one year and I feel they should go to bat for me with Bernina.

As all the L prints that are replaced are refurbished -- and putting them in seems to be a 15 min. job, I think they should stand by their product and give me a replacement.

Anyone have experience replacing these "L prints" or control boards? Isn't this too often for this kind of major repair?
