can not record from my cd rom..after crash?

my computer crashed not so long ago .so everything was wiped clean on the hard drive and reinstalled..i reinstalled the power dvd ok ..then tried to install the recording drivers and software..in the middle i was asked for the reg number what i no longer have..so left it blank..so now when i try to record anything ..it just says device not found...i cant get in touch with the company ..it went bust..vivastar...it is a dvd/cd all in one 2001.it would be great if anyone who reads this had a number i could enter..or knows how i could rectifi this without putting a new dvd/cd unit in..my computer is pentium4 windows 2000 xp,,any help would be wonderfull..i have a stack of cds with a couple of songs on each i want to record for the car and cant do..thanks in advance..mike

If the Power DVD is part of a bundle that came with the computer and you no longer have the registration number you will need to obtain another number by purchasing the license again from the website.

Nevertheless, the device not found error is not from this lack of registration. In the Control Panel, find the CD drive and right click on it and select Delete. The ensuing dialogue box will ask you to verify that you are removing the device. Select OK and proceed to restart the computer. The device will be installed upon detection when the operating system restarts. The device drivers will be install anew.
