sony 36" will not switch on?

My 36" sony t v will not switch on.i think it may be a faulty on/oof switch as had been using remote to switch on/off.

will it still work from remote ? try the master reset by turning off at the plug and back on but if it is a faulty switch you may not get it to come back on at all
