How do I fix my Bissell ProHeat Steam Cleaner?

Do you know what is causing the Steam Cleaner not to dispense water. Is this something I can correct?

my bissell pr heat leaks cleanning solution all over from the chamber. how do i fix it

GENERALLY IT IS THE PUMP. BISSELL SO NICELY LEFT OFF A TIE WRAP ON SOME MAHINES. UNFORTUNATELY IT CAUSES A TUBING CONNECTION AT THE OUTPUT OF THE PUMP WHICH IS POSITIONED DIRECTLY OVER THE PUMP MOTOR TO LEAK. THIS CAUSES THE MOTOR TO RUST OUT AND SEIZE UP. OR IF THIS IS NOT THE CASE BECAUSE BISSELL CUTS CORNERS LIKE MANY MANUFACTURERS AND USES THE CHEAPEST PARTS AVAILABLE THE PUMPS CAN SEIZE ON THEIR OWN. IF THERE IS NO RUST ON THE PUMP MOTOR YOU CAN TRY UNSEIZING IT BY TAKING THE PUMP APART AND TWISTING THE SHAFT A FEW TIMES AND BREAKING IT LOOSE. IF THAT DOESN'T WORK YOU CAN READILY GET NEW PUMPS ON E-BAY AND OTHER ONLINE SUPPLY STORES AND REPLACE THE MOTOR YOURSELF.

If it's the 1698 series model and if it sprays when set to the accessory but not when set to floor the heater box water channels, in the handle base behind the red light, is gunged up. Mine did this. Took it apart, cleaned the channels and it works fine.

The pump is a simple device and is sealed. Don't mess with it as you could cause damage.

If no spray at all, then it should be the pump belt. A spare was supplied and how to fit with the machine.

If your belt seems to be ok, ( £2.99 from local shop, with 2 pages of instructions for taking off and putting on,) I have had most success by putting only water in the detergent dispenser- it needs something in or it won't work, and putting the detergent in with the clean hot underline hot water . Using this method I have managed to do one room, woopee.
I have to say it worked well. If you visit the bissell website, or look at the instructions, there are hints like, leave the machine standing for a minute after changing water or detergent, so that any air can find it's way out. This helps with the frustration of 'It's stopped working again.'
Let us know how you are doing.

good luck

It needs water or fluid in both the clean water tank and the small detergent tank on the side. If this doesn't help, the belt may need changing, but I changed mine and it made no difference. A common fault with this machine.
good luck

Is it not squirting out water or solution. If it is when you push the trigger nothing comes out. Check the pump belt. Access to it should be on the side. That is wrong with mine. Hope this helps.
