Thanks Marco Megafix I have now removed pulley, unbolted the 8 bolts holding the spider but cannot get it to come away from the outer drum, I dont want to damage drum by levering it away, any advise greatly appreciated. ( the spindle moves in the bearings so thats not holding it)

The reason the spider will not easilly release is the holes in the stainless drum rim have burrs, which grip the spider.
I made some small wooden wedges and drove them between the outer drum and the spider and the spider came away without any damage

Changing the bearings is straight forward, and the spider presses back in easily
