Hi, It's about a year old and it suddenly started turning itself off, now the red light comes on, it flashes to green and then the light disappears, then it starts again flashing red then green. Is it just built-in obsolescence, or can this be fixed???

we had same with itd 61.it claimed to have found new stream.after retuning it has hard crashed.
ex university tv/electronics background suggests that it has been deliberately zapped by IBM/sagem to kill units that are old.we must accept that this will become more common.have worked with systems that even self destruct if tampered or pass service date.secret engineer reset codes will generate revenue from gullible consumers.refuse to buy these con-boxes!

You could just replace it as STBs are so cheap now it is not worth paying for a repair. However I wouold take it back to the RETAILER and demand that they get it repaired or replaced under the various Sales of Goods Acts as something that only lasts a years is not "Of Mechantable Quality." Ignore the warranty stick to sale of goods.
