pc will only boot from cd?

Hi, I've had to get a new hard drive and install my OS, the problem now is, I have to have the CD in the drive for it to boot up. I've check the booting setup and the priority boot is hard drive and secondary is CD drive, yet it wont boot unless the cd o/s is in. Can anybody please help.

you need the disk to be a primary partition and you shouldnt mess with the jumpers, they will have been right. you ahvent got any other drives in have you, like an old one. if so disconnect until you are up and running, and do do vista, its not worth it.

Hi T, I installed it from the start up where it says "press any key to boot from cd" and followed all the instructions, formatted hdd, so a complete new o/s installed, I've done this a few times on other pc's before but never had this trouble. I've tried moving the jumpers about, still the same. The hdd is a Western Digital WD1200, loaded with Vista Ultimate

You have not properly installed the Operating System on the hard drive.
