how do i take the housing of the mixer unit apart, i have the outside hot/cold switch off and the clip but the rest seems solid how does it come apart

you need a hexagon wrench or a large spanner to remove the cover plate. Obvioulsy make sure the water is isolated before you attempt this. Sometimes the cover plate can become seized so you might want to call out a Mira Engineer who wil do the service for you at a fixed price including parts. Ring them on 0844 5715000
