How can I fix my hot water tap?

The tap opens fully but no water comes out. I can pull the tap up and then water comes out but no water flow otherwise. What di I need to do?

Sounds like they are a cheap pair of taps Keith. The mechanism sounds broken. You can take the top off and figure it out but I would replace them to be honest and save yourself money in the long run. There are no short cuts, buy quality for peace of mind.
