Would proofed glass be suitable for using when making a combustion box gasket/flange for a Vulcan Continental 45 60 B F Boiler

hello again first of all do want to replace a water gasket or seal the boiler to prevent fumes escaping a flange is what a gasket fits on and normally is for fluids the combustion box (the name gives it away) doesn't have flanges it has fittings which may have gaskets if you say exactly what is leaking or needs repairing we may be able to help
