HRM Combi oil boiler?

How do you get oil into the boiler when there is no oil in the flexi hose.has it run back too far to be bled through ?
Tony Halliday, February 2011
First close the valve at the oil tank so oil does not flow back. Fit a plastic tube and funnel arrangement to the bleed nipple, hold the funnel above the burner and with the nipple loose, pour a pint of oil in waiting for bubbles to stop. You need to see the oil running back into the supply pipe which may need bending about to let the air rise. Once full, close the bleed nipple, open the tank valve and start the burner both at the same time.
