hi

i have a vaillant eco plus 837 boiler , and recently had a small pipe change for shower head to downstairs bathroom. since then i have intermittent hot/cold water central heating seems to be working fine. pressure seems fine. no fault code display either. ive read the manual several times but nothing obvious with this kind of fault. i have also checked for any leaking pipes nothing out of the ordinary. any assistance would be much appreciated?

hot water is working but the heating will not come on

When turning on a HW tap start by pressing the 'i' button under the display, the boiler should run through the sequence s.10,11, 13 then finally s.14, also as soon as the tap is opened. The tap symbol should be in the display window. s.14 should be displayed all the time the tap is open and the flame & tap symbols should be on constantly.

Press 'i' again to return to the main display, the temperature on the boiler will steadily rise until it reaches a peak point dependant on HW selection temp, the boiler should now be modulating but the flame should remain constantly on. The CH flow pipe, should remain cold.

This would indicate 'normal operation'

I hope this helps to at least establish that your boiler is operating correctly, if it is deviating from the above, please ask here again.
