Typical that whhen my hubby goes away my TV decided to go, the screen went black with a white flash initially and no sound. The standby light is on, however when I try to switch it on, I can hear a ticking noise from inside and after around 5 secs it goes back to standby, hope someone can help. it's our only TV and the kids are already driving me nuts during these school hols!

Try giving the tv a gentle physical shock (i lift the front about 1/2 cm and drop it), during the couple of seconds after you switch on, but before it goes into standby. Works on my Hitachi tv which has the same symptoms.

By the way it's a panasonic but unsure of the model number.
