my ipod shuffle updater dislays"cant mount ipod" and "ipod service error".Also it isnt dectected by itunes nor will it add music. What Should I do?

hi, if your ipod is a first gen one(it will be white), than try visiting, apple.com. search for the ipod shuffle reset utility, when you find it, youll need to download it. plug your ipod in and run it. then install itunes 7 and it should work

mine worked, but then i found out the battery in it had died

sorry to answer a question with a question . but anyhoo
I recently had a dead ipod as you did. I replaced the hard drive (and the battery while i was at it) and its going like a wee train now. You have to exhaust all other ipod-PC possibilities 1st. email spiceralex@hotmail.com and Ill try and help
