How can I get the base off my Braun 3105?

To test the switch etc. I need to get the base off my Braun 3105 coffeemaker, but there are no screws. There are six recessed plastic tabs accessible in the base, but I can't tell whether they attach the base to the case or something else to the base (the heater, for example). Pushing, prying, & pulling at the tabs & other recesses in the base have gotten nowhere--the base won't come loose.

Bob,
I, too am trying to remove the base from a 3105. So far, no luck. There IS one screw with an anti-tamper head on it. I've ground the small pin in the center with my Dremel & a small ball grinder bit, but am still trying to locate a star-wrench (like an allen) long enough to get down into the well where the screw is. I believe the plastic tabs will pop with a screwdriver once the screw is out. I MAY end up grinding the screw head completely off.
The electronics module seems to have taken a dump....local repair shop (Ft Worth Shaver) can get the part in 7-10 days, but costs $30! Half the cost of the maker! Hope to find bad resistor or other simple R&R item on circuit board when I get in there. Let me know if you get results - I'll get back to you if I solve my prob.
