The ice maker will use a rotating wheel with micro switches. One micro switches detect the position of the ice scoop and the other operates the water valve which opens for 7seconds in my fridge to fill the ice tray. Unfortunately the micro switches only last 200000cycles and can cost as little at £2 to replace but Neff only offer to replace the whole ice maker at £600. If you can solder take out the ice maker locate the micro switches, go on ebay get a replacement and fit in new switch, mine was ZW50 which are easy to get online. Also check that the water valve is operating and that no water has collected in the back of the unit shorting out any power to the water valve.
