how can i fix my potterton puma 80 boiler?

my low pressure warning light remains on even though ive re-pressured the system

Hi, I have an 80e and recently had the same problem. I followed the flow diagram for problem solving which I have always found to be spot on for diagnosis (it's inside the front cover of the boiler, so switch all power to the boiler first), However on this occasion it did not, so I rather dispondently nearly gave up, but a really good look at the mainboard revealed two solder joints that had cracked and were arcing. I re soldered these and bingo, the boiler lives again. I would have spent quite a bit over the years on this boiler if it were not for the exellent flowchart. I would not however advise anyone to service their own boiler if they are not qualified to do so.
