How can I fix my color TV, Zenith SR3587DT?
I recently purchased my 36" Zenith SR3587DT used for $70. The only thing that the seller said was wrong was that the picture has a reddish tint for the first couple minutes when it starts up, but then it fades away. This is partly true. There is a terrible red tint when you first turn it on, but after about a minute, it goes away, but the screen continues to have a reddish tint/coloring to it from there on out. I have tried changing the color, tint, contrast controls, but those don't seem to be the problem. I'm thinking that it might be the picture tube, but I don't want to jump the gun on that because I know that those are really expensive to replace. The reddish tint/coloring isn't very bad, its hardly noticeable if you're not paying attention, but you can definitely tell it's there after a little while from watching it. The picture also isn't all that clear. It's not bad, but our other 27" Zenith has a much better picture and so far that TV has been great. Also on the plastic border above the TV there is printed "Advanced Video Imaging." I don't know how that related to the TV, but w/e.
Anything that anyone could tell me would be of great help because I really don't have the kind of cash to spend on anything mildly expensive right now. If you think you have some information and/or instructions that could really help me, feel free to give me a call at 330-419-1003 with your information. Thanks so much.
