i need to install my hotpoint aquarius 900 washing machine temporarily in my garage where there is only a cold water source is this ok -i only use the 40 degree cycle and sometimes the 60

this is ok but ensure the hot water inlet is connected to the cold feed also. ( use a splitter ) the machine will heat the water up.
