why is my machine losing water?

I have just moved so my washing machine has been newly plumbed in. I have used it once only and it has been leaking since. The problem is not with the filter, or with the taps under the sink. When I looked at the back, the pipes seemed dry. It is a Whirlpool machine, with both hot & cold feed- in fact I had to have a hot feed added as there was only cold in the new place. I checked the back pipes in case it was seals had gone, but they seem dry. I live alone and have no experience with things like this. Can anyone offer advice please?
