Pump fault/low pressure on Baxi Combi Boiler 80E?

I bled my radiators that are heated by Baxi Combi Boiler 80E now the boiler is giving a fault, "Fault on pump or low pressure", boiler was working fine before hand, have a moved the airlock?

Thanks for the info, I am going to call a plumber, as it is gas fired I don't want to go messing with it and make it worse.

There is a possibility that you have air in th pump. Is it a grunfoss? If you open the screw at the front of the pump (turn the boiler off first) try and remember how many turns for when you close it, this should release any air and the boiler will re-start. I would recommend that you call a Corgi registered plumber to do it. Are you sure that all radiators are fully bled? Is the boiler pressure at 1 to 1.5 bar? This is optimum working pressure - do not go above or below.

Hope this helps

I still have a drip, is this normal? or should I start to worry.

Fiona Forde, September 2006
Brilliant I was hoping the drip was due to something small. Thanks again.

thats just the pressure valve letting of water, just don't let it go below 0.5bar or the boiler shuts down.

I tried that last night and it worked!!! When I put on water it was still giving me a fault but then changed control to water and rads and things kicked off. I have a little drip which is probably due to the fact that initially I raised the pressure guage too far but once I bled the rads it has come down to a normal level. Thanks again.

Cheers for that I will try this when I get home and let you know how it goes.

you need to refill the boiler the gauge should read 1bar- 0.7 min. under the boiler you should see a flexable pipe jointing two pipes together that is your filling loop to refill boiler from mains. you need to open the lever on filling loop to let water in but do it slow as it gos up quick. you''ll also need to bleed rads again as its gone so low it will let air in in get the gauge to about 1bar bleed one rad then check gauge again and top up if needed and then next rad. see how you get on...

Pressure reading guage is at 0
