Washing machine WXLM1200 stops mid cycle?

Washing machine starts program and fills with water. Part way through the cycle the m/c lights go from Active to On. Pressing the Start button causes the m/c to continue and it may stop again. Filling and emptying seem ok. Spin program seems ok
