Sony DVD Player?

recently there was a power surge (lightning) that trip off the main power. I noticed that a few low voltage items were damaged (timer socket, usb splitter, power adapter) with some burning smell. happened to be that my dvd player suffered the same fate... there is burning smell and I noticed that the fuse was burnt. tried to change the fuse but upon switching on the power the fuse too burst in blue flames.

How can I diagnose the problem? or even better what is the problem?

p/s: the fuse changed was withthe same specs.

Power Supply is toast.

It might be worthwhile claming on house insurance if it is an expensive dvd player. Obviously there is too much voltage coming through the fuse, only thing i can think of that i had a problem with was a fuse had gone in my plug and kept burning out the fuses in my old VHS player. Worth a look i suppose.
