I have a thorn olympic boiler and the radiators on the ground floor are cold. The bedroom radiators are hot. The pilot light is on but only 'flares' up for a few minutes then goes back to a single flame. The thermostat on the boiler is turned to the highest number 5. Not sure what is wrong! can you help? Thank you

I have exactly the same problem and have been told I need a new gas valve??

Not sure if this is correct or not

it's overheating, check the pump & that there's water in the header tank. otherwise you may be looking at a blockage or sludge in the system.
