How do i remove the bios password on hp omnibook 6000 note book?

Hi I have the hp omnibook 6000 notebook laptop and i want to upgrade to a larger hard drive but the bios is password protected how it became like that i can only guess that previous owners must have put in a password at some time and when i removed the hard drive to see what type i needed to upgrade, the password reset itself, as prior to this i had no problems accessing the bios .I can still boot up and run xp pro
Can any one help

Try search for BIOS Cracker (Google), there is a very good boot cd application you can download (but scan file for spyware/viruses before using) and burn to disc, that will remove bios password, provided you can boot the cd first. Otherwise look for something that will fit on floppy disc if you have one in laptop.

If the password reset itself, try pressing enter when asked for it to see if it is blank. Check the manual for the computer and reset the bios as directed to see if this helps.
