I fixed my cold water problem by replacing the water inlet valve where the water hoses connect to washing machine

I have the same question. Cold water line into washer is free of problems, but washer won't fill or rinse with cold water. Hot water is fine. Mine's a whirlpool.. 18 yrs. old!
