with power lead fully extended and waste cylynder empty, unit cuts out after about 10 mins.cannot finish a 22ft +12ft lounge carpet in one go!!,half hour wait while it resets otherwise sucks chrome off metal but i don't use it for this.do i have to live with this?is it built in feature? help

In the dc 01 this happens when the filters need changing or cleaning, as the motor begins to overheat an cuts out, but then again aren't your filters "Long Lasting." Maybe if you tried cleaning them. I don't know. Never having seen a DC 05.
