How do I fix my earphone jack / socket / line-out?

I have taken good care of my Creative Zen Micro, but somehow my earphone socket has grown faulty. The sound is distorted (only hear base, or background) until I wiggle the cord, and even then I have to try and keep it in the same position. This makes it very difficult when jogging or working out as the cord keeps moving. I've tried different earphones and the problem still exists.

Any ideas, help please?
