hotpoint washing machines?

keeps triping out house fuse but not the plug fuse

you have an insulation fault,either carbon brushes in motor worn,(carbon dust tracking)or short circuit in heater,or a cable chaffing some were,you need to get it checked out properly,call an engineer who will test it with a megger,cheaper in long run,and safer.

try a kettel in that wall socket and see if that will blow too, if the problem is with the socket.. if not pull the washer out and check its power lead all the way back, if not the element might have gone inside, and is makieng it trip, but start with the kettel,,

heating element to earth.Causes trip to go out but not a fuse.Disconnect heater wires (ALL) and insulate with tape and retry.This proves element theory without test equipment
