It has started to record double copies of each programme and also to record one on top of the other. It did this years before and I sorted it out but don't remember what i did.

You have a hard disk index corruption.
The easiest thing to do is to is MENU -> Record -> HDD Control -> Format.
You will loose all your recordings

Or you could:
. Locate an adapter for connecting a PATA HDD drive to a PC.
. Locate a PC and load humaxrw on to it.
. Learn how to use the line commands of humaxrw
. Locate a screwdriver and connect the hard disk inside the 9200T via the adapter to the PC
. Use humaxrw to fix the corruption
. Put the 9200T back together again
